ONE DAY
Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
ONE DAY is built so that your personal writing stays with you. This page says what stays on your iPhone, what leaves it and where it goes, and what the AI that composes your day is told.
On your iPhone only
- Your journal: entries you write or dictate, and the photos you keep with them. They are stored in the app on your iPhone. Photos never leave it.
- Dictation runs on your iPhone (Apple speech recognition on the device); ONE DAY does not send your voice anywhere.
- Morning and evening notes are planned on your iPhone as notifications. Their text and the small picture attached to a note are made on the phone; none of it is sent to a server.
- Personal lines on Today (the day number, yesterday's One Thing, what you kept on this day before) are worked out on your iPhone from your own days. Nothing is sent.
- Your city and your date of birth stay on your iPhone. The city search is done by Apple on your device.
- Your payment is handled by Apple (StoreKit). Your card and your Apple ID never reach us. What we do receive about a subscription is listed under “With your account”.
You can use ONE DAY without an account. Then nothing you write or choose is sent to us, and a purchase you make before you sign in is not sent either until you do. Your iPhone still asks our servers for things that are the same for everyone: the content library the days are made from, and your horoscope (see below). Deleting the app deletes what it stored on your iPhone.
With your account
When you create an account, we store with it (on Supabase, our database and sign-in provider):
- Sign-in: your email address and your password (kept only as a secure hash), or, with Sign in with Apple, the identifier and email address Apple shares with us (this can be a private relay address). Your account has an identifier that the app sends with its requests.
- Your profile: language, name, country or region, and the answers you give in setup: age range, identity, interests, directions, guidance level, word languages and which moments you turned on.
- Your days: which content was picked for each day. The app also sends your time zone with the request for a day.
- Your journal and finished moments: only when you choose “Move My Days” at sign-in or turn on “Sync with your account” in Privacy & Account. If you choose “Keep on This iPhone”, nothing of the journal is sent. Photos, voice, city and date of birth are never part of it.
- Your subscription: when you are signed in, the app sends us the signed receipt that Apple gives it for your purchase. It holds the transaction and product identifiers, the dates and the state of the subscription, and the identifier of your account. We keep your plan, when it ends, the end of a trial and the identifier of the original transaction, tied to your account, so that your plan works on every device signed in to it. Apple also tells our server when a subscription renews, is refunded or ends. Your card and your Apple ID are not part of it; Apple keeps them.
- AI usage: the date, the AI model, token counts and cost of composing a day. No content.
You can turn sync off (Revoke Sync) or delete the cloud copy of your journal at any time, in Privacy & Account.
Horoscope
The horoscope needs no account. To get it, the app sends your star sign, today's date and your language — not your name, not your date of birth, and no account identifier. Like any request to a server, it reaches us with your IP address. The text is written by AI (see below).
What goes to the AI
This happens only after you agree in the app. Before the first time your interests, directions, guidance level and word languages would be sent, ONE DAY asks you, and you can say “Not now”. You can take your agreement back at any time: You → Privacy → “Personalize with AI (OpenAI)”. Without your agreement, your interests, directions, guidance level and word languages are not sent to our server, and so not to OpenAI; the app keeps working, but without them.
When you have agreed, to compose your day for a signed-in account, our server sends a request to OpenAI. It contains only: your language, the date, a plan label kept on our server, the moments of the day, your interests, directions, guidance level and word languages, and a list of items from our own content library (a short internal code, the moment and topic tags of each item). The AI only chooses among those items.
It does not contain your name, email address, age range, identity, country, account identifier or anything from your journal. Requests are sent with OpenAI's storage option turned off.
The horoscope text is written by OpenAI from your sign, the date and the language, and facts about the sky on that date; nothing about you.
Who processes your data
- Supabase: database, sign-in, confirmation and password reset emails, our server functions.
- OpenAI: choosing the content of your day and writing the horoscope, with the requests described above.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases and subscriptions, city search.
- News publishers: a news item may show the publisher's own picture. The app loads it from the publisher's website, which then sees your IP address, as with any web page.
- Netlify: hosts these web pages (stozh.com).
The app has no advertising, no tracking and no third-party analytics code. We do not sell your data.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app (Privacy & Account). This permanently deletes the account and everything stored with it in the cloud: profile, days, marks, synced journal entries, subscription records and AI usage records. What is on your iPhone stays until you delete it or the app.
Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID settings (see theTerms of Use).
Changes
If what ONE DAY does with your data changes, this page changes first, with a new date at the top.
